According to AMD road map , in the first quarter 2009 the high end models four core 45 nm processors generation phenom II will not exceed 3.0 GHz.

Today AMD company demonstrated the overclocking potential of 45 nm processors Deneb. AMD proposed four systems on base of Deneb processors C2 stepping. They all used different cooling technologies . As motherboard , AMD used the gigabyte platform on base of chipset AMD 790GX.

With the use of regular air cooler phenom II X4 processors are overclocked to the frequencies, close to 4.0 GHz, with vcore voltage approximately 1.55-1.6 v. Water cooling cooling ensures over 4.0 GHz with 1.6 v . AND phase change system allows the Phenom II X4 to reach the 4.5 GHz level with 1.7 v . Dry ice with 1.6 v. allow to reach 5.0 GHz .Finally in order to go beyond the 5.0 GHz, the phenom II X4 processors required 1.95 v and liquid nitrogen.

Let us note that the 65 nm AMD processors had a cold bug issue and can not work at minus temperatures; therefore there was no noticeable records mentioned. With passage on 45 nm technical process AMD company was able to remove the so-called cold bug, which offers before phenom II processors enormous overclocking possibilities.

Certainly, AMD in 2007 actively demonstrated the 65 nm processors with four core, working at 3.0 GHz frequency , but series models could not reach such default frequencies. However, AMD representatives certified, that for 45 nm processors were used a ordinary copies, and many series processors phenom II X4 can repeat the achievements examined and also exceed them.

Core i7 processors also in this case reached the frequency more than 5.7 GHz with liquid nitrogen. Now overclocker choice is wider , Since AMD propose many accessible processors with a free multiplier, AMD also note that Deneb series processors will be based on newer stepping. This means that their overclocking potential can be improved.

DFI motherboards are well known in the upper market segment . Recently this company presented a new motherboard : Intel x58 + ICH10R: DFI lANParty UT x58-T3eH8.

This motherboard is intended for Intel core i7 processors (LGA 1366). It includes three slots PCI- E x16 : ATI crossfireX (x16, x16, x4) or NVIDIA SLI 2 Way (x16, x16) and 3- way SLI (x16, x8, x8).

We also note the poly-phase power diagram and the six DDR3 memory slots . The Memory is organized in three channels, and the maximum volume is 24 GB. The list of supported modules includes DDR3 800/1066/1333 MHz. DFI lANParty UT x58-T3eH8 include a multichannel sound codec (7.1, Realtek ALC 889).

This motherboard is equipped with two controllers gigabit LAN (Marvell 8052+8053) with the teaming regime .

AKASA presented a new LGA1366 cooler : AKASA NERO which can be used also on LGA775 or AMD socket 939, AM2, AM2+.

Three are eighth mm U- descriptive heat pipes effectively removing heat- from the processor to the aluminum radiator, which counts 46 edges.

The 120- mm fan is equipped with PWM- speed regulator (500-1500 rp/min). The noise level composes only 18,3-24,6 DB. The air flow in this case is located in the range 17,38-50,54 CFM.

The Producer declares that NERO is capable to cool even processors with TDP up to 150 W.

The overall cooler sizes are 160,5 x 119,9 x 54 mm.

One of best cooler from thermalright for the LGA 1366 platform is the copper version : thermalright TRUE copper. The company proposes also the cooler ultra-120 eXtreme-1366 RT and the LGA 1366 fastening . The fastening is not expensive and even in Japan it cost less than $15.
