During the quarterly conference reporting Texas Instruments representatives refrained from optimistic forecasts.
The volume of orders for TI products began to decline in the second quarter. The manufacturer is not sure whether this is due to weakness of the global economy and uncertainty in the volume of demand, or simply TI customers are confident in the ability of manufacturer to put the right amount of product in a short time, and therefore do not create their own inventory. The manufacturer hopes that, if necessary, can quickly produce and ship the required amount of chips to customers.
Typically, in the third quarter TI sales volumes grew by 6% compared with the previous quarter, but this year the company sees no reason for the increase in sales in the third quarter. In the second quarter, TI was able to realize product for $ 3.34 billion, up 7% more than the result of the first quarter. Net income for the period totaled $ 446 million in the first quarter was 68% lower. However, in comparison with the previous year, sales fell by 4%, and net income - 34%. In the third quarter, TI expects to gain as much as in the second. Related Products :
