Some time ago the Japanese colleagues have initiated a wave of rumors about Intel desire to stop the release of processors in LGA socket.
According to Daniel Snyder, a spokesman for Intel, in the foreseeable future (next three years) giant will not stop release of LGA for customers and enthusiasts. However, a company spokesman declined to comment on the long-term plans.
It should be added that socket processors will ever be fully replaced by the single-chip system BGA. First of all, the second option is not acceptable for servers and workstations.
