Currently Intel offers its partners Thunderbolt controllers , codenamed Port Ridge and Cactus Ridge. In the first half of 2013 to replace those solutions have to come Redwood Ridge .
Model Redwood Ridge 4C 4510 as the high end model 2013 controller supports up to two dual-port Thunderbolt (enabled interface PCI Express 2.0) and the ability to connect via display interface DisplayPort v1.2. TDP chip level is 3.1 watts, but special arrangements reduce energy consumption in idle mode to 1 milliwatt.
Redwood Ridge 2C 4410 helps to organize only one dual-port Thunderbolt and has support for PCI Express 2.0 and DisplayPort v1.2. TDP value can be up to 2.45 watts in standby controller consumes less than 1 milliwatt of energy. The solution will be used as part of a platform for laptops Shark Bay.
