After recent reduction in the kentsfield processors prices ,  the cheapest proposal in the desktop segment became Core 2 Quad q6600 (2.4 GHz), which cost $266. But here the owners of LGA 775 motherboard can save, and buy the four core processor xeon x3210 (2.13 GHz) for $224. At least, on wholesale prices this proposal seems advantageous. As is known, Intel in its time forewent the release of processor core 2 Quad q6400 (2.13 GHz), which on present prices scale  would be proposed for $224 or near that. Rumors about the existence of this processor began yesterday to be extend in European sites, which are referred to this MSI company page  , where the processor core 2 Quad q6400 (2.13 GHz) is present in the list of supported processor. On the same page it is possible to reveal a references about the engineering models processors wolfdale with frequency 2.33-2.66 GHz and Yorkfield with frequency 2.33 GHz. According to MSI site , the support of these processors will be ensured by motherboard on base of chipsets intel p35 and Intel g33: Intel Representatives explained this situation. Actually, the engineering models core 2 Quad q6400 (2.13 GHz)  had time to win acceptance, and they reached  MSI. But , intel decided to remove this processor in order not to create excess competition with dual core processors from its own production - with the present prices level this seem completely logical.
