Celeron D for more than year back, use of same core Prescott, with only deference the reduced size of cpu cache. " Usual " Celeron had bad reputation among competent users. These processors were bought up in enormous quantities owing to the low price, however buyers had to be content with so low productivity. Processors Intel Celeron D have kept a low price level with crippled performance .but this should not impact the overclocking capabitlity on those cpu.as u know celeron d 310 has been built with lower cache and lower cpu mhz that pentuim 4 this would give it more advantage in overclocking language. the celeron d310 cpu would run cooler and overclock higher . this was the reason of this d310 review
Since there was a lot of time, we had been checked up some processors Intel Celeron D then we have safely forgotten about them, in fact there were much more interesting objects for studying. To return to this question has forced occurrence on sale earlier not met processor Intel Celeron D 310 (2.13GHz). We for check managed such three processors collected in Malaysia and marked SL8RZ.

Processors are based on core Prescott of audit E0, of 133 (533) MHz with a multiplier 16 are intended for work in Socket 478 . They do not have support of Hyper-Threading technology, and the cpu cache is only 256 ГЉГЃ. However, I believe, that their characteristics should not differ that has shown us a screenshot from site Intel Processor Spec Finder.For check of processors the open test stand of a following configuration has been collected:

we had processed the overclocking procedure as alwais nothink new.starting with lowring the memory devinder to get memory frequency out of question.we have left the cpu vcore at stock setting
Checking d310 stability means numerous change of frequency FSB and other parameters BIOS, that a method consecutive going up and down to find the unique true frequency in the given conditions of stable work. to get in BIOS it is enough to press at start a key "Delete", .
Let\'s return to processors Intel Celeron D 310. they had all very close serial number. The first processor had the lowest voltage - 1.35-1.62 In according to RightMark CPU Clock Utility, the to second was above - 1.375 . the First processor could load Windows at frequency of the trunk of 250 MHz, the second has stopped on 245 MHz, and the third has repeated result of the first. In check of the first and third processor it has been decided togo in more detail.
The further tests have shown, that both of the processor in a condition to work stably at FSB 245 MHz on rated voltage. It is interesting, that under 100 %-s\' loading the utility S&M 1.7.2 in a mode "normal" both d310 celeron cpu have shown identical temperature - 51.9В°C. Probably, That mean that the asus mobo is givin for borth exactly the same ammount of voltage
However other fact is twice interesting. The increase in voltage Vcore did not lead to an appreciable improvement in overclocking. As experiment on the first processor as more perspective, the system of liquid cooling Gigabyte 3D Galaxy has been installed. Also what you think? On the same system, in the same conditions, without increase in voltage, only with more effective system of cooling the processor has shown steady work on frequency of 250 MHz bus, that as a result has given the desired 4 GHz of frequency processor
Will agree, that 52°C temp from the d310 under 100 %-s\' loading with S&M utility is quite normal result. At replacement of cooler Zalman CNPS7700Cu with ÑÂÎ Gigabyte 3D Galaxy the temperature has fallen absolutely slightly, all to six degrees, up to 45.6°Ñ, but even such insignificant reduction of temperature has allowed to increase the stable limit of d 310 overclocking frequency. Take it as a note.
d 310 review conclusion
First to all such processors will be interesting to owners of Socket 478 based motherboard on chipsets i848/865. all those motherboard are capable of 250 fsb and a bit more . the d310 would be a quite nice update for old computer owner . one think that I note is the price it is low plus the great overclocking capability.so the celeron is nice choice for budget overclocker and computer. The main thing - that u must keep in your mind is to have a good cooling. !
