In search of justice NVIDIA sent lawsuits against Samsung and Qualcomm. Paper went to the International Trade Commission (ITC) and the District Court of Delaware. NVIDIA specifically accuses the defendants of violating seven patents related to graphics architectures, including unified shaders and parallelization. At a glance - this is the most convincing set of documents to determine the guilt of the offender. Amount of compensation, by the way, is not registered. Obviously, it will be determined in the course of the proceedings, if any, will be initiated.
ITC Commission must determine the launch of the case within 30 calendar days, after which the court case can be directed to the middle of 2015. The district court will make a decision to initiate a case against Samsung and Qualcomm for 90 days, and the proceedings can drag on for years. Interestingly, pushing the charges against Samsung and Qualcomm, NVIDIA has not accused ARM and Imagination, and it is precisely these graphics core developers used in SoC Samsung and Qualcomm.
More specifically it can be said that in the lawsuit are the following NVIDIA products that may infringe its patents: Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Tab S, Galaxy Note Pro and Galaxy Tab 2, and also Snapdragon S4, 400, 600, 800, 801 and 805, as well as a number of processors Samsung Exynos.
