South Korean company Samsung somehow rectify its position in the smartphone segment, where it began actively to press Chinese competitors. In addition to reducing the range of models, it is ready to strengthen control over spending. As explained by Samsung representatives at recent speech, in the segment of luxury smartphones decisive competitive advantage is not the price, and the presence of some innovative features that distinguish the brand products of the total mass of smartphones.
Samsung Display Division is preparing to release a flexible panels for smartphones, which can literally be folded in half. Until the end of this year, Samsung plans to launch another smartphone with a curved display. Model Galaxy Note Edge enjoys steady demand. By the end of next year, Samsung Display can produce 30-40 thousand flexible displays for smartphones monthly. None of the competitors will not have such production capabilities to the top in 2016. Samsung intends to offer flexible displays to competitors.
As already mentioned, Samsung also will fight for reducing the cost of AMOLED-display. In fact, in its characteristics the displays of this type better than a conventional LCD panel, but when you reach a certain volume of issue they may show similar or even lower cost. Samsung will offer AMOLED-panel to the client side. Over time, the division of Samsung Display up to half of produced panels for smartphones will be sold to external customers.
