Existing technology of mobile devices wireless charging , imply physical rapprochement with the charging station, connecting directly to a special connector cable is not required. The new version of the relevant standards provides the ability to simultaneously charge multiple devices. According to the publication EE Times,Freescale company has released a new solution to charge wireless standards using electromagnetic induction method, devices with power consumption up to 15 watts. Previously, the limit was considered the power consumption 5 W, and the new solution will allow more and faster to charge less powerful devices.
The combination of chip Freescale WCT1012 / WCT1111 WPR1516 allows you to create mobile devices and charging stations for them, supporting standards Qi and PMA. Although there are notechnical barriers to the implementation of technology support A4WP (Rezence), which is based on the phenomenon of magnetic resonance, ,Freescale said induction methods are more promising. Formally, an increase in transmit power up to 15 W will allow to charge wireless devices using not only tablet and large smartphones, but also portable medical and industrial equipment, equipped with rechargeable batteries. The first products with the new chipset will be available in the next quarter.
Although laptops recharged wirelessly can not, eventually the market will be appropriate solutions. Especially because the energy consumption corresponding devices has been steadily declining, and the boundaries between the form factors become blurred.
