It was assumed that Phenom 9700 (2.4 GHz) processor will be announced yesterday, and its TDP level will be equal to 125 W. Let us note that the voltages range of this processor is slightly higher than Phenom 9600 (2.3 GHz) and Phenom 9500 (2.2 GHz). However, yesterday AMD preferred to postpone the announcement of AMD Phenom 9700 (2.4 GHz) for the first quarter of the next year. This processor will be produced with B3 stepping and its energy consumption level can be reduced.

Associate added today the missing data about Phenom processors , and precisely their TDP value for senior models. In case of Phenom 9700 (2.4 GHz), it is equals to 125 Watts .It is expected in January, 2008 that the Processor Phenom 9900 (2.6 GHz) TDP should be no more than 140 W. Let us note that in this products range , Intel has slightly less hot-processor Core 2 Extreme QX9770 (3.2 GHz), with 1600 MHz bus. For this model, Intel has TDP level 136 W and wholesale price $ 1399. Tests shown that raising the default frequency of processor and transition to 1600 MHz system bus result in performance growth by no more than 5-8% compared with Core 2 Extreme QX9650 (3.0 GHz).

Let us return to the processor Phenom 9900 (2.6 GHz). its announcement will take place in February or March 2008. . Regarding the high TDP value , it may be transformed for the better.
