ASRock has introduced one of the first motherboards with support for USB 3.1 specifications. The appropriate ports were as a part of connectors on the rear panel, and in the form of individual dual-port expansion card to the bus PCI Express 2.0. In addition, ports have been implemented as a USB Type-A (connectors compatible with USB 2.0), and the port Changeling USB Type-C. Site Computerbase.de clarifies that ASRock has produced nine motherboards with support for USB 3.1. Some of them have already been presented , and the rest will be shown in March at CeBIT 2015 in mid-March.
All ASRock motherboards with USB 3.1 ports are divided into three groups (see. Table above). The first column - motherboard with built-in USB Type-C and add-on card with two ports USB Type-A. The second column -no built-in ports USB 3.1, but with a dual-port card USB Type-C / USB Type-A. In the third column one board with integrated two-port USB 3.1 card and withthout USB Type-A.
It is also interesting that ASRock motherboards with support for processors Haswell-E (LGA 2011-3) will get non-standard processor socket, already noted on ASUS motherboards with the function OC Socket. These connectors employ engineering contacts processors Haswell-E for supplying high voltage to the individual processor units (up to 2.2 V instead of 2 at the maximum permitted in normal mode).
