As the demand for tablet PCs is weakening, their manufacturers around the world are adjusting their strategy for the tablet market, the Taiwanese publication DigiTimes. Apple and Microsoft are preparing to release a large tablet or device format 2-for-1 with a display diagonal of 12 inches. Perhaps we are talking about the so-called iPad Pro and Surface Pro 4. At the same time, Asustek Computer and Samsung Electronics launches low-cost model tablets with top performance.
Worldwide deliveries of tablets this year could reach 170-200 million units, and they continue to play a key role in the development of the market Internet of Things (IoT) . Asustek, which last year put on the market nearly 10 million tablets, still bears the losses from this business. This year it is projected to decrease in sales of tablets up to seven million units. However, Asus plans in late 2015 to enter the break-even level, and in 2016 has started to make a profit from the sale of tablet.
Samsung recently launched the 8- and 9.7-inch tablets in a series of Samsung Galaxy Tab A, that support Wi-Fi and LTE (optional). While these devices are still more expensive than their competitors, their prices are more friendly than their predecessors. Chinese company Huawei, meanwhile, has launched an 8-inch tablet M2, design and specifications are comparable with the new device Asus. Lenovo, HP, Acer and Xiaomi also adjust their strategies in order to catch up with the tablet market players .
As industrial tablets produced HP, Acer, Asustek and MSI, they have weaker performance compared to existing commercial computers but their prices are 30-50% lower, which facilitates a certain demand for such devices.
