Director Roger Dingledin Tor Project has published information about how last year the US Federal Bureau of Investigation has funded an attack on an anonymous network nodes. According to Dingledina, the American intelligence agency paid a million dollars at Carnegie - Mellon University for the attack, which would allow to determine the real IP-address of Tor service .
Technically, the attack was carried out by introducing a network of front-repeater nodes that collect data about other users of the network. Dingledin believes that this was an alarming precedent, as the FBI, in fact, ignored the basic provisions on privacy and conducted without a warrant and no permits.
The attacks by the FBI on the network were held twice - in 2013 and 2014. In the latter case used dummy repeaters that have been introduced into the network in January, and disclosed only after six months. Related Products :
