In the spring NXP and Freescale announced intentions to merge core assets. The combined company will get one-third of the shares to Freescale Semiconductor securities holders , the transaction amount excluding debt closer to $ 11.8 billion.
Yesterday, the Dutch company NXP Semiconductors announced the completion of the deal on the absorption of Freescale Semiconductor. The combined company, which will act under the name of the buyer (NXP), hopes to become a leader in several segments of the market, with an annual revenue volume of at least $ 10 billion. In particular, NXP can control a large market of automotive microelectronics to give this direction to 40% of total revenues. In the next few years, this market segment will grow by 5-6% per year, and expects to reach NXP leading the pace of development - by 8-9% per year.
The first product of the joint venture will be an integrated solution for automotive radars. With the development of driver assistance systems the autopilot demand for such products will grow.
NXP will also expects to earn in the segments of "Internet of Things", security systems and portable devices. Along the way, it was announced the sale of NXP's RF Power division to the Chinese fund JAC Capital. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
