Today at CES 2016 Google and Lenovo announced the development of the first smartphone platform Project Tango. The company also demonstrated a working prototype of a smartphone, which in real time can create a 3D-model of the world, as well as to impose on them digital objects. The smartphone will be released in the summer of 2016 and will cost $ 500, and its final version will get a screen diagonal of 6.5 inches.
In addition, Google, together with Lenovo have launched an initiative that aims to support the development of interesting games and applications related to technology 3D-scanning the surrounding space. Developers can submit applications until February 15, then Google will select the best ideas and provide them with funding and support to bring them to augmented reality. New applications for augmented reality will be available in the new smartphone.
