Trying to catch up or keep up with Google in the pace of creating cars with an automatic control system, car manufacturers and their partners are ready to cooperate actively with academic institutions. As Bloomberg reports, the newly formed consortium DeepDrive united several companies willing to finance development in the field of "automotive" artificial intelligence. In the face of "common danger" decided to join Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen, NVIDIA, Samsung, Qualcomm and Panasonic. Each of them will pay the $ 300,000 development team from the University of California at Berkeley, to have unhindered access to the algorithms, allowing the car to improve the autopilot.
These funds will be enough to stimulate the activity of scientists with the necessary dedication. The last form of cooperation allow to use polygons and prototypes car manufacturers to improve the developed algorithms. Cooperation and car component manufacturers eliminates redundant investment and development . Related Products :
