This week, Intel announced with regret that Andy Grove passed away , which in 1968 became the first employee of Intel company , which hired the founders Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore . Grove became the first president of the company in 1979, in 1987 he took over as CEO, and in the period from 1997 to 2005 was chairman of the processor giant.
Andy Grove took an active part in the transformation of Intel from a manufacturer of memory chips in the developer and manufacturer of CPUs. In his era fell successful projects such as the Intel 386 and Pentium processors of the first generation.
He began his career in Hungary in 1936, and survived the Nazi occupation in 1956 emigrated to the US to escape the socialist regime. Andy Grove was not only a talented engineer, but also wrote a couple of books on the art of government. In 1996, he successfully underwent an experimental treatment for cancer. He suffered from Parkinson's disease, and actively financed the search for ways to cure it.
