The research firm KGI has published this week a report to investors, stating that in 2016 shipments of smart watches Apple Watch will be reduced by more than 25% compared to last year. According to analysts' estimates, on the base of 2015, Apple sold 10.6 million Apple Watch, but this year their shipments will be reduced to 7.5 million.
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo calls two reasons for a possible Apple Watch sales fall. First it is worth noting that the market for wearable electronics is too young and underdeveloped. Secondly themselves Apple Watch watches, according to the analyst, not to the bestseller. They do not have enough good applications and a limited battery life and almost complete dependence on the iPhone stopped many users from buying.
Also, a new report from KGI says that mass production of the next generation of Apple Watch will start in the third quarter of 2016, and presented the new smartwatch will be this fall, along with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Moreover, analysts believe that Apple Watch will be the second generation of the so-called S-model (similar to iPhone) with minor updates and changes in the form factor. A total redesign of the Apple Watch is scheduled for 2017. Related Products :
