According to AMD management, hardware will be developed in a way that will provide the first level of detail in photographic virtual reality applications - this would require a speed of at least tens and hundreds of teraflops. And in order to reach the level of "simple reality", the resolution will have to increase to 64 times high-definition video, and performance hardware base should grow to a thousand teraflops. Then, according to AMD's representatives , virtual reality will give a sense of presence in the real world.
Professional graphics solutions like AMD recently presented Radeon Pro SSG with embedded SSDs allow processing "raw" video with a resolution of 8K at a rate of 92 frames per second. This is more than five times faster than the free solutions with built-in SSD.
