More than a year ago, Micron company acquired Tidal Systems' - third-party controllers for SSDs.  It was reported that this asset will help Micron to form a line of its own controllers, relying on the "human resources" with experience in the LSI (SandForce) and Skyera.   Micron CFO Ernie Maddock  at specialized events explained that the company is pleased with the progress in the development of their own controllers.  They plan to use for the client-class SSDs, but in the corporate segment Micron will continue to rely on a third-party controllers.  The situation with the development of its own controller Micron is now "much better than it was a year ago." Like many competitors, Micron company relies on memory type 3D NAND.  From a financial point of view, according to Maddock, move to release this memory provides a significant cost advantage over the competition.  And if we talk about the type of memory 3D XPoint,   Micron is generally considered one of the major breakthroughs of the last two decades.
