The popularity of OLED-displays is growing, and, not only mobile, but also in the television market. Within a couple of years, more than half of TVs will be equipped with the OLED-panels.
According to PIDA forecasts, in 2020, 68% of the TVs will be equipped with OLED-panels. Models with the OLED-displays will dominate in the higher segment of the TV market.
According to DigiTimes, in 2015, manufacturers have put a total of 260 million OLED-panels in the amount of $ 11.7 billion, 370 million OLED-panels will be delivered in 2016, totaling $ 16.8 billion. And by 2020, supply OLED-displays reached 1.25 billion units, or $ 61.4 billion in cash.
PIDA Experts note that the leading companies are now including Apple and the Samsung, are closely watching the development of not only the OLED, but the other three advanced display technologies: MicroLED, QLED (screens on quantum dots) and Flexible OLED (Flexible OLED-panel).
