Yesterday official press releases on globalfoundries site reported that on 15 June will begin the work on the foundation Of fab 2. In 2011 equipment will be installed , and the mass production of the micros-chip in fab 2 will start in 2012. In the building will be begun to operate 1600 men and 2700 work will be created for servicing the building. 1400 colleagues will work on the completion of building at the factory, still about 5000 works will be created in the surrounding infrastructure.
For building fab 2 , globalfoundries companies today acquired from New York state authorities more than 90 hectares . Expenditures for factory building are evaluated at $4,2 billion , according to some estimation, the major portion will be obtained from Arab investors, who manage the larger part of globalfoundries actions. Most likely, Fab 2 in the future will arrange the production not only of processors and chipset, but also graphic chips, including the production of strange customers. Globalfoundries company has the available 28 nm models storage cells, in 2010, it must master the production of more complex products on 28 nm technology. | ||
