If you connect to NVIDIA DisplayPorts ports multiple displays with frame refresh rate above 60 Hz there is a surge in energy graphics consumption .  The adapter raises the voltage of its power and increases the frequency of the GPU, even in standby mode (without 3D-load).   The test system used  the graphics card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming.  adapter parameters were monitored using Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming Engine utility.  The two ports DisplayPorts adapter connects monitors Eizo Foris FS2735 with support for 144 Hz FreeSync and Asus ROG Swift PG279Q with support for 165 Hz G-Sync.  When connecting the first one monitor Asus ROG Swift PG279Q idle system video frequency was 291 MHz, regardless of the monitor mounted on the frame rate of 60 Hz or 165 Hz.  Measurement system via consumption Watts Up showed an average of 65-75 watts.
