In May 2009, Intel was forced to face the decision of the European authorities, according to which the processor manufacturer has to pay 1.06 billion. Euros for violation of conditions of fair competition in the local market.  The European Commission decided that from 2000 to 2005, Intel used   incentive payments to players of the European market of finished computers, which limited the use of a competitor in the face of AMD processors .
