We talked about an interesting project to develop image sensors with impressive features The project developer - a Canadian company InVisage.  On the base of research at the University of Toronto was able to develop a light-sensitive thin-film coating with special inclusions, which are called "quantum dots".  This image sensors can become thinner and more sensitive to light, and their performance will increase.   As reported, the company has built in Taiwan InVisage own factory for the production of components of the sensor and the sensor assembly.  It already has two sensors.  On InVisage factory silicon-based film is applied with "quantum dots."  Rounding out the production cycle TSMC company , and packaging and testing conducted by a third company.   To enter the mass market InVisage company is looking for partners and investors, but realizes that may become a competitor to the three whales image sensors market - companies Sony, Samsung and OmniVision, which together hold about 60% of the market.
