In November it became known that NVIDIA together with the development team from Stanford University creates an improved helmet immersion in virtual reality.  Development is based on the effect of the so-called "light field" .  Instead of a screen in front of the user's eyes is a sandwich of two LCD screens, separated by a blank space between the width of 5 mm.  Since LCD screens propuskyut light, the user sees the image simultaneously on both screens, allowing each eye to focus on the point with his depth of the scene. If we consider a stereoscopic image on a flat screen, the brain can get in dissonance with the signals from the eyes and eye muscles.  The illusion is not confirmed by mandatory rotation of the eyeballs.  In some cases it is uncomfortable and causes headaches when viewing stereoscopic images.  NVIDIA and  Stanford project partly compensates for this drawback, forming away from the eyes "light field" with some depth.  In some ways it resembles a hologram. The first demonstration prototype development was shown in the summer at Siggraph 2015. The other day at the exhibition Virtual Reality LA 2016 was shown an improved prototype development, which is already similar to the helmet for immersion in virtual reality. Characteristics of the device is not yet announced.  The device is connected to the PC with  NVIDIA and running the programs on the base of language NVIDIA CUDA.
