DATE:2017-06-04

A new smartphone Oppo R11 , which will be presented in early June, was seen in the benchmark Geekbench.  There, the smartphone demonstrated the capabilities of the underlying new Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor .

Oppo R11 based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 scored in GeekBench 1588 points in the test of one core and 5780 points in multi-core mode.  The benchmark indicates that the eight-core processor with a clock speed of 1.84 GHz complements 4 GB of RAM.  And as a preinstalled operating system declared Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

Recall, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor was introduced in early May, along with a Snapdragon 630 chip. It comes in 14-nanometer process technology and includes eight Kryo 260 cores with a clock speed of up to 2.2 GHz, Adreno 512 graphics and a Snapdragon X12 LTE modem.

As expected, Oppo R11 will be presented on June 10.  And along with him on this day, Oppo R11 Plus also debuts.  Both smartphones in addition to Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 will also receive a dual main camera with 16- and 20-megapixel sensors, a 20-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint scanner and a built-in 64 GB memory with MicroSD memory card support.

POSTER: computer news   ||    GEIL INTRODUCED MEMORY MODULES EVO-X AMD EDITION DDR4 OPTIMIZED FOR RYZEN

DATE:2017-06-03

GeIL Company presented new memory modules under the name EVO-X AMD Edition DDR4 within the framework of Computex 2017 .  As you might guess from the name, the distinctive feature of these modules is that they are optimized for use with the new AMD Ryzen processors.

It is reported that the EVO-X AMD Edition DDR4 modules are built on DRAM memory chips that are best compatible with Ryzen, although it is not specified exactly what it is for the chips, but most likely it's Samsung B-die.  Modules have a capacity of 8 GB, and will be sold separately and dual-channel sets totaling 16 GB.  Novelties operate in DDR4-3466 mode and are characterized by delays of 16-18-18-38, and the manufacturer emphasizes that the new modules have been tested for stability with the declared timings and frequency on various motherboards.

Also note that the new EVO-X AMD Edition DDR4 memory modules are equipped with RGB LED backlighting, which fully supports various proprietary backlight management utilities such as Asus Aura Sync, ASRock Aura RGB, MSI Mystic Light RGB, Biostar Vivid LED DJ and Gigabyte RGB Fusion . Also, you can adjust the operation mode  and the color of the highlight by using the slider on the module itself.

THE OLDER MODEL SKYLAKE-X WITH 18 CORES CAN BE DELAYED WITH ENTERING THE MARKET

POSTER: computer news   ||    DUAL-CORE COFFEE LAKE MODELS WILL BE RELEASED EARLY NEXT YEAR

DATE:2017-06-03

While Intel and AMD in the upper price segment, which barely reaches 1% of the market in terms of revenue, are measured by the number of processor cores, the economical buyers are trying to ask the Coffee Lake-S processors, among which six-core models with a free multiplier will appear in August.  Moreover, some sources are sure that these processors can be installed in existing motherboards with a LGA 1151 connector, although Intel is preparing Z370 for fresh processors.

We have the opportunity to take another look at Intel's plans for a moderate freshness in the processor segment.  Firstly, it is interesting to note the actual absence of the 12-core model Skylake-X in the current products assortment  .  Apparently, Intel previously planned to introduce such a processor in late May, but before the announcement decided to "populate" it to delayed models with an increased number of cores.

Second, at the debut of the first group of processors Coffee Lake-S, the company assigns both August and September - that is, some space for maneuver in terms of time is preserved.  The first to enter the market will be models with six and four cores, among which there will be processors with a free multiplier.  According to the thermal package, the diversity is moderate - both 95 W and 65 W.

Finally, early next year, the company will be formed by these processors other models of Coffee Lake-S, among which will be dual-core versions, as well as products with a TDP level of not more than 35 watts.  The assortment of lIntel x300 chipset series will expand in January.  This indicates the prevalence of models in the January group of Coffee Lake-S processors without a free multiplier, although among them there will be products for overclockers with a "K" in the title.
