POSTER: computer news   ||    THE BETA TESTING OF THE GRAN TURISMO SPORT AUTOSIMULATOR WAS ALSO OPENED FOR RUSSIA

DATE:2017-06-01

Now in the closed beta testing of the competitive project Gran Turismo Sport can take part not only residents of North America and Europe, but also Russia.  The developers have already begun sending the letters to the volunteers' mailboxes, who earlier expressed their desire to take part in the event.

The exact list of tracks and cars is not yet installed.  But there is no need to hope that there will be an unusually large number of them.  It is possible that over time Polyphony Digital representatives will be engaged in updating the list of machines and routes for the beta test.  Gran Turismo Sport is preparing to be released exclusively on the PlayStation 4. The exact release date has not yet been announced.  Perhaps, more detailed information about the game, we can find out already in the upcoming E3 - at a press conference Sony, of course.

POSTER: computer news   ||    COMPUTEX GIGABYTE SHOWED A COMPLETELY SUBMERGED SERVER

DATE:2017-06-01

At Computex 2017, at the stand of Gigabyte Technology, those who wished could admire the working 2U computer shelf full of liquid.  This is one of the rare yet effective methods of liquid cooling of computing systems.  It is not new, but for a number of reasons has not yet become widespread.  Unlike traditional systems of liquid cooling, the immersion method is not afraid of leaks, since it is already completely filled with a coolant .  However, working with optical communication channels, for example, in submerged systems requires completely sealed connections, which have not yet been standardized.

In development Gigabyte for cooling of a board with accessories the "dry" liquid Novec of the company 3M is used.  Of course - it's a dielectric that does not pass current.  3M has been producing Novec for a long time in different versions.  For example, for automatic fire extinguishing systems.  The liquid "boils" when heated above 45 degrees Celsius and quickly removes heat from the components.  Later, the gas creates a pressure and again returns to the liquid medium as a condensate.

According to the developers, for servers with full immersion in case of heat dissipation when using Novec fluid, the complex consumption of the system can be reduced by 97%.  Previously, similar systems were presented by IBM and also using this liquid from 3M, but its performance indicators were slightly lower - up to 90% of consumption reduction.  For comparison, dipping servers into oil (natural dielectric), with which experiments with full pouring of components began, demonstrated a decrease in consumption at the level of 50-60%.

POSTER: computer news   ||    MEMORY MODULES HYPERX ALSO CONQUERED THE BOUNDARY OF DDR4-4000 IN THE SERIAL VERSION

DATE:2017-06-01

Not only G.Skill used Computex 2017 to demonstrate the latest memory modules capable of operating in modes exceeding DDR4-4000.

HyperX brand, owned by Kingston Technology, in the mailing list reported on the expansion of the range of modules and memory kits Predator family.  Now the manufacturer is ready to offer the appropriate modules capable of operating in modes up to DDR4-4000 inclusive.  In addition, the market will have DDR4-3000 memory sets with a total capacity of 128 GB, which will attract the attention of the supporters of the principle "there is not much memory."

The main characteristics of the new memory modules the manufacturer describes succinctly:

* Capacity of one module: 8, 16 GB;

* Sets of 2 modules: 16, 32 GB;

* Sets of 4 modules: 32, 64 GB;

* Sets of 8 modules: 128 GB;

* Frequency: 2400, 2666, 3000, 3200, 3333, 3600 or 4000 MHz;

* CAS-latency: CL12, CL13, CL15, CL16, CL17, CL19;

* Voltage: 1.35 V;

* Operating temperature: 0 ° C to 85 ° C;

* Dimensions: 133.35 x 42.2 mm.

It is noteworthy that the 128 GB package consists of 8 modules, so it will not be possible to use it in every motherboard.  In addition, HyperX honestly warns that the branded memory modules are not always able to work in the declared modes, and much depends on the combination of the processor, motherboard and power supply.  All new memory modules support XMP extensions.  All HyperX Predator DDR4 modules are also protected by a lifetime warranty.

POSTER: computer news   ||   PROCESSORS AMD RYZEN THREADRIPPER RECEIVED NVIDIA RECOMMENDATIONS

DATE:2017-06-01

When we last time talked about NVIDIA's sympathies for AMD processors, then only Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 were listed in the list of recommended components for the BattleBox gaming systems. In less than two days, an announcement appeared on the NVIDIA website that welcomed the appearance of Intel processors Core i9 and AMD Ryzen Threadripper. Both processors families   are now included in the list of recommended components for Battlefield Ultimate systems.  In this case, they are adjacent to the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card.

The minimum level of Battle Box Essential allows the use of Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 processors in conjunction with a GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card equipped with 6 GB of memory.

NVIDIA Company in every possible way welcomes the output of both Intel Skylake-X processors and AMD Threadripper processors.  According to the developer of graphics solutions, the company is "more than ready" for the output of processors from both families.
