Just two days ago we learned about the existence of such a product as AMD Whitehaven.  At the same time, the assumption was born that this is the codename of AMD's 16-core desktop processor on Zen cores for productive gaming platforms.  Today, it was possible to clarify this information, because it turned out to be inaccurate.    The  same 16-core processor on the Zen cores (Ryzen) is called Threadripper.   The Threadripper models will carry a processor socket SP3r2.  This is a modification of the server package SP3, with the use of which, in particular, will be produced server-based 32-core AMD Naples processors.  This is a huge slot for the gaming platform, the number of contacts is 4094 pieces, which, by the way, opens the possibility of installing in the future a 32-core AMD processor in the gaming PC. The SP3r2 and SP3 connectors feature the maximum allowable TDP packets (180W and 200W respectively), maximum support for memory channels (4 and 8), and the ability to create multiprocessor configurations that are closed for SP3r2 and allowed for Opteron Naples SP3.  There are still insignificant differences, but they must excite the manufacturers of motherboards, not us.  In general, AMD has secured itself by prohibiting the cross-use of server and gaming processors in improper platforms for them.  The announcement of new products, apparently, can take place in two weeks at Computex 2017. AnandTech forum showed interesting details about the future Intel Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X processors.   So, to identify the older production solutions, under which the models Skylake-X line will be advanced, Intel establishes the Core i9 brand.  The flagship line - 12-core Core i9-7920X processor - will remain on the sweet and will be released in August, while the other three Core i9 models are the 10-core Core i9-7900X, the 8-core Core i9-7820X and the 6-core Core i9 -7800X - will start shipping in June.  A summary table with the expected characteristics of the novelties, which can be seen below, was presented by the authors of the VideoCardz site.   As follows from the published data, the three older Skylake-X models will support the third state in turbo mode or Turbo Clock 3.0.  Data on the frequencies of the 12-core model are unknown, but the 10-core and 8-core models will be able to automatically increase the frequencies to 4.5 GHz.  Base Core i9 frequencies will not exceed the 4 GHz mark, although Kaby Lake-X models with four cores will begin their life path from a base frequency of 4 GHz or higher.  Kaby Lake-X models will remain under the name Core i7.  Under the brand Core i8, we recall, debuting 14-nm processors Intel Coffee Lake. The other day the smartphone Nubia Z17 was seen in AnTuTu and on the official website of ZTE, and now it has been certified in China.  All this indicates that the release of new items is not far off. Soon Samsung will return Galaxy Note 7. After going through the recovery process, it will appear on the market called Samsung Galaxy Note 7R and will be twice cheaper than the original.  This is reported by the online edition of GSMArena with reference to sources in the industry. According to industry sources, the cost of Samsung Galaxy Note 7R will be about 50% lower than the original Galaxy Note 7, which was withdrawn from sale last fall.  Interestingly, it was previously reported that the South Korean market Samsung Galaxy Note 7R will go on sale at a price of 700 thousand Korean won (about $ 620), which is about 300 thousand won ($ 266) cheaper than the original.  Now the sources say that its cost will be 500 thousand won (about $ 440).
