Gaming laptops are becoming more popular lately, which is not surprising, especially with the appearance last year of graphics cards based on Pascal graphics processors, which are almost inferior in performance to their desktop counterparts.  The largest manufacturers of gaming laptops are the companies Asus and MSI, however not only their solutions are present on the market. There is, for example, also Razer company , which offers very interesting mobile gaming systems, the most productive of which is the Blade Pro notebook.  Despite the fact that the latest version of this laptop was introduced in October last year and, of course, has not lost its relevance, now the manufacturer decided to update this system. The novelty, like its "old" version, is equipped with a productive mobile video card GeForce GTX 1080, which does not differ much from the desktop version.  The Blade Pro display, which is built on a 17.3-inch IGZO touch panel with 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) and 100% coverage of Adobe RGB color space, and NVIDIA G-Sync support, has not changed.  Also, the low-profile mechanical keyboard Razer Chroma has not gone anywhere.   Changes have touched the "heart" of the laptop,  its processor.  Instead of the Skylake generation used in the previous version of the Intel Core i7 6700HQ, the new version of Razer Blade Pro includes an Intel Core i7 7820HK Kaby Lake generation, which operates at a higher frequency, and is equipped with a large amount of cache memory.  It should be noted that despite the very high operating frequency (up to 3.9 GHz in Turbo Boost mode), the manufacturer also endowed the processor with factory overclocking.  When the Performance mode in the Razer Synapse utility is activated, the processor automatically overclocked to 4.3 GHz. The new processor has supported faster RAM, as a result of which instead of DDR4 memory with a frequency of 2133 MHz, the updated notebook Blade Pro is equipped with a memory with a frequency of 2667 MHz.  The amount of memory has not changed, and is 32 GB.  Also, the manufacturer stresses that the novelty is the world's first laptop with a THX certificate, which means that the display and sound system match some very high requirements.  The updated Razer Blade Pro will soon be on sale for about $ 4,000. The organization JEDEC yesterday confirmed that it is going to publish the final version of the DDR5 specifications next year, and some details about the new standard will be made public on June 19 this year at a special event.  There is no specific information on DDR5 yet, but JEDEC promises to double the density of information storage and its transmission speed, improvements at the level of power consumption and interface organization.  In parallel, the development of "hybrid" memory options for installation in the connector NVDIMM-P, combining the properties of a solid-state drive and a RAM module. Some time ago, when representatives of AMD generously distributed interviews in the run-up to the announcement of Ryzen 7, they mentioned the desire to update the evolutionary method of desktop processors over the next three to four years.  This means that the Socket AM4 platform will live without significant changes until 2020, and DDR5 support will require the introduction of a new processor socket.  In any case, new motherboards to processors with DDR5 support will be exactly needed.  Whether Intel will move to DDR5 at a faster pace is hard to say - at least in the server segment, support for this memory will most likely be realized earlier than in the desktop.
