As expected, in the framework of  CES 2017 in Las Vegas, Qualcomm announced its new processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 for mobile devices.   As GSMArena reports,  Snapdragon 835 Qualcomm has become the first commercial product that is manufactured using the new 10-nanometer manufacturing process FinFET Samsung.  It also became the first mobile processor with support for Bluetooth 5.0.  The chip supports VR, and Windows 10. Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 uses the same computing core based on Kryo ARMv8 architecture that Snapdragon 820/821, but their number has doubled.  Kryo Eight cores are divided into two clusters.  One cluster of four energy-efficient cores Kryo operates at speeds up to 1.9 GHz, while the other consists of four Kryo cores clocked at up to 2.45 GHz and is designed to perform complex tasks.  Snapdragon 835 chip has become approximately 35% smaller and consumes 25% less power compared to its predecessor, which should positively affect the battery life time. In place of the graphics accelerator Adreno 530, applicable to the Snapdragon 820/821, the new single-chip platform controller came Adreno 540. It has support for OpenGL ES 3.2, OpenCL 2.0, Vulkan's API and DirectX 12. The graphics performance increased by 25%.  Thanks to the new Adreno 540 chip supports video recording in the resolution of 4K (Ultra HD), as well as playback of 4K-content.  There is also a built-in modem LTE-X16 with support for LTE Cat.16 (download speed of up to 1 Gbit / s) and Cat.13 (download speed of 150 Mbit / s).   Also in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 debuted a new version of  rapid charging Quick Charge.  Quick Charge 4.0 up to 20% faster and 30% more efficient than Quick Charge 3.0.  New technology supports USB-C Power Delivery specification. Samsung has already started mass production of Snapdragon 835 on 10-nanometer rules.  The first devices based on the Snapdragon 835 will appear in the first half of 2017. The year before, the Finnish company Nokia has sold its mapping business to alliance of three German car manufacturers (BMW, Daimler and Audi / Volkswagen), digital maps which are required not only for the navigation system, but also to develop automatic driving systems.   In addition to a pair of Chinese companies and Singaporean investment fund, which got 10% of Nokia shares , as noted by Reuters, now join Intel Corporation,  this week become the owner of 15% stake .  The financial side of the transaction was not disclosed, but the formalities should be settled in the current quarter. According to the declared intentions,  Intel is going to become a strategic investor, which is involved in the project, not only money, but also development.  Intel have jointly developed technology to capture high-resolution terrain in real time.  The relevance of digital data is very important for robocar because they use maps of the area, not only for the construction of  route, but also to account for the location of obstacles restrictive signs and edge of the road. ZTE Blade V8 Pro will come with a mobile operating system Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board and to be provided with support for 4G LTE.
