DATE:2016-11-30

2017  marks ten years since the first iPhone release , next year  will be one of the most important for Apple.  It is expected that in the anniversary year for the iPhone, Apple will introduce a brand new iPhone 8 that sales will surpass predecessors.  This forecast was voiced analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (Ming-Chi Kuo), known for his accurate predictions about the new Apple products.

In his new report to investors, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that in the second half of  2017  year, which in the United States covers the period from March to September, Apple will release 120 to 150 million new iPhone.  For comparison, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at the time were released copies of 110 to 120 million, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus - print run of 100 to 110 million, and the amount of  iPhone 7 and Plus-version deliveries, according to analysts, is 90-100 million units.  If Apple does sell more than 120 million iPhone 8, it will be the best indicator of all time and the next-generation iPhone will surpass even the iPhone 6 on popularity.

Ming-Chi Kuo said that the high demand for the iPhone 8 will be due primarily to a model with a curved OLED-display, as well as the presence of all three versions of the new iPhone support wireless charging.

POSTER: computer news   ||   IN THE SEGMENT OF INTERNET OF THINGS INTEL IS NOT INTERESTED IN THE MARKET OF END DEVICES

DATE:2016-11-30

Stacy Smith  at the conference Credit Suisse said that the investment in Internet of things - a long-term work in the future, and the instant impact of the market corporation can not wait.

In light of today's announcements on cooperation with Delphi in the development of components for automotive systems "autopilot", it would be interesting to know what Intel is going to offer products to partners in this area.  Smith immediately made it clear that the end devices and sensors corporation interested enough.   Intel believes in the strength ability to develop and create productive processors and server systems.

Firstly, in the data centers and server components Intel will be able to earn more.  Second, the classic x86-compatible architecture  has not manifested itself in the segment of mobile devices as ARM-compatible solutions are not only cheaper, but also more economical in terms of energy consumption.  And if we are talking about "smart" sensors that get their energy from alternative sources, Intel processors in this segment simply have nothing to catch.  Of course, there will be exceptions, but Smith does not see any reason why that Intel would have to change the status quo.

Automation of industrial production, the creation of automatic control systems of transport - these additional areas where Intel hopes to find a use for their talents in the era of "internet of things".  Again, mostly "on the server side."  If you go back to the cars, the average cost of e-filling of each Intel estimated at $ 1,000, so the capacity of the market, even a conditional 10 ml Pieces per year.

POSTER: computer news   ||   EUV-LITHOGRAPHY MAY RETURN TO MOORES LAW

DATE:2016-11-30

Stacy Smith recently replaced the chair of the financial Intel director  for the post of executive vice president of production and sales, and in an interview with the leading events Credit Suisse he touched the specifics of the so-called "Moore's Law", which slows its action, forcing the developer processor longer to adhere to a single stage lithography process technology.  In particular, as explained Smith, under the 14-nm process technology provides at least three generations of products.  He argues that such an increase of the life cycle of process technology allows Intel customers to build forecasts and clear plans for the future.

The development of 14-nm process technology from Intel require more time than originally planned.  However, the company was able to increase the density of transistors more than expected.  Moreover, as noted by the former financial director of the Intel, in value terms, "Moore's law" continues to work with the same increments.  At least with regard to Intel production possibilities .  So far, the company manages to get a better unit cost than by reference to the part of the perpetrator.  Intel still believes that is ahead of competitors in a generation process technology, at least.

Sticking to "Moore's curve" Intel expects even in those circumstances where the competitors will be able to do this.  The introduction of lithography with superhard ultraviolet (EUV), elements of which Intel has plans to use as part of a 7-nm technology could restore "Moore's Law" on track when the transistor density doubles every two years.  However, this may not happen, according to Stacy Smith.
