Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Company, which become a part of Western Digital, released a new series of hard drives CinemaStar.  Drives are made in the body size 2.5 inches, intended for use in a variety of consumer electronics. Model CinemaStar Z7K500, exists in versions with 250, 320 and 500 GB SATA interface and is characterized by support for 6 Gb / s and 7200 rpm.   The closest relative of the previous model was the hard drive CinemaStar Z5K500, also produced in versions with a capacity 250, 320 and 500 GB.   Finally, CinemaStar C5K1000 use a greater thickness (9.5 mm), but it can hold more data - 640, 750, or 1,000 gigabytes, depending on the version.  The motor is running at 5400 rpm and has a low noise level. NVIDIA demonstrated a  computational version of Kepler GPU , which has become the accelerator called Tesla K10.  The decision is traditionally designed for high-performance computer systems and is available for order through NVIDIA channel partners in the face of Appro, Dell, HP, IBM, SGI, and Supermicro. The accelerator has two on-board graphics processor,  but the list of technical specifications suggests that the base for Tesla K10 is a dual GK104.  Thus, each GPU has 1536 cores CUDA, coupled with an array of GDDR5 memory chips totaling 8GB with capacity 320 GB / s and support for error correcting codes (ECC).  Performance is measured by the value 4.58 teraflops in single precision calculations.   Separately, NVIDIA plans to actively promote a product called VGX, which is a card with four  GPU and 16 GB video memory.  The solution supports hardware virtualization, and focused primarily on cloud gaming services (such as OnLive, GaiKai or Playcast).  Experts NVIDIA develop their own cards for gipervvizor VGX, which can work with the software Citrix and VMWare.  Later will be added support for Microsoft products and Xen. Dane-Elec company , whose name was recently mentioned in connection with the USB-drives for movie fans The Avengers , has expanded its range of products with a more traditional appearance.  This is the series of SSDs mySSD O-Series.  A new series of drives are designed for use in servers, embedded computers, laptops and tablets. The series includes models size 1.8 inches of 64, 120 and 240 GB.  They are equipped with SATA 3 Gb / s.  Controllers are used in SMI SM2244 drives.  The stated maximum sequential read speed is 285 MB / s write - 275 MB / s.  Productivity, expressed in number of input-output , up to 50,000 IOPS. Drives support SMART.  They can perform load balancing algorithms, which increase the service life, as well as AES encryption with 128-bit and 256-bit encryption.  The devices are compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, Vista and XP, Mac OS X and Linux.   The manufacturer provides the drives mySSD O-Series with three-year warranty. Lenovo presented a year ago ultra-thin notebook ThinkPad X1 .  Upgrading is very significant, for example, the screen has been increased from 13 to 14 inches, it is based on the new mobile platform Intel, and indeed, X1 is no longer called an ultra-thin notebook and ultrabook.
