Apparently, the mobile business, acquired from Nokia in 2013, did not live up to Microsoft hopes.  Last quarter, Microsoft managed to sell only 1.2 million Lumia smartphones, which is two times less than in the previous quarter.  And in the near time Microsoft plans at all to bury the Lumia range. According to the sources, to the end of 2016 Microsoft will kill family of Lumia smartphones.  In December, Microsoft plans to stop production and to stop the sale of Lumia smartphones.  And to replace the Lumia series comes a new line of smartphones under the brand Surface.  However, the new series will include far fewer smartphones.  Sources claim that the first smartphone with flagship Surface characteristics will be presented at the end of this year. Interestingly, a few days ago there was some other information on the web. Two months ago, research firm IDC said that by selling the second quarter 2016 up to 1.6 million Apple Watch,, Apple company  has become the world market leader in smart watch with a share of 47%.  And the third and fourth quarter of this year promise to be more successful for Apple yet. According to the publication Patently Apple, citing industry Taiwanese sources, Apple has increased orders for chips and other components for the new smart watch Apple Watch Series 2. In August and September, Apple partners monthly supply components for the production of more than 2 million Apple Watch  second generation.  The increase in the volume of orders suggests that Apple is confident in the success and looks forward to a strong demand for Apple Watch Series 2 from buyers.
