Then it just stopped. Any idea what could have fixed it? I did clean it out really good and tried to make sure everything is connected good.

I'd be interested in the answer to that. I'm not aware that my computer ever overheated, but it has shut down at a couple of times out of the blue. I think it's happened both when I was using it, and when I wasn't.

maybe there is a power problem ??. Here is review about system monitoring to check if your system is overheating or not.

Because when I booted it back up it would say your computer was previously shut down to thermal overheating. Sometimes it would boot back up sometimes not. The funny thing is it came from the factory with that problem. The very first day of us hooking it up. I will look at that site, thanks

Intel Pentium 4, 3200 MHz 800MHz external bus
Is the processor that I have, so is this not good either? Good grief, I feel as if I have an old piece of junk for a computer.

Yes this should be the same core as the one used in the video above . Those processor has high clock frequency but they eat a tone of power and heat up a lot. Their performance is about right your 3200 P4 should be as fast as A64 3200+- A64 3000+ is most application except gaming. But i love those processor due to their high clock capability. The world record with processor (similar to your) is 8 GHZ (8000 MHZ)

You can check it by opening your computer box. The cooling fan must be having lots of dirt on it or the path of heating blower must be blocked. This forces your PC's processor to stop working.

I never encounter this problem before but I think that it has something to do with the power broking out. I guess that you have to do some routine checks for the power cord all the way to the power supply itself.

you have to watch out when it comes to dust too. dustmites live inside dusty computers and they are microscopic, however they can burn to death and cause your computer to be even hotter

You could actually "underclock" your CPU if the problems are continuous. It would be better to improve the cooling or find another fix, but sometimes you have no options! Underclocking might violate some basic hardware-enthusiast principles, though. It's a tough choice to make, almost like having to put a dog down

i feel dead fans, dirt and the environment are the three main causes of overheating. You should use a soft artists brush to clean the fans located on your heat sink and graphics cards.
