Qimonda company today declared, that it became AMD partner in the release of graphical solutions with GDDR 5 memory The mass deliveries of corresponding microcircuits began after the appearance of the first models. Thus, the first video card radeon HD 4870 will be equipped with GDDR 5 memory from qimonda production .
Qimonda expects that following the desktop sector , GDDR5 memory will be prescribed in notebooks and then in gaming consoles. AMD company now supplied microcircuits with 512 Mbit density , capable of working at 4.0 GHz DDR . Memory in video card radeon HD 4870 will operate at 3870 MHz DDR frequency . To the third quarter qimonda plans to begin the deliveries of GDDR-5 microcircuits , capable of working at 5.0 GHz 5.0 GHz frequency , and in further development the memory can reach frequencies of approximately 6.0 GHz DDR.
