hi i'm new to this  forum.I would like some help overclocking my cpu, I have a p5n em hdmi board witha e5200 cpu and running 4gig of ram on a windows 7 o/s ,I would like to get 3.0 or a little more out of it safely. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance Cheesy

increase your FSB slowly 10 mhz step and check for stability each time , your CPU could do 3Ghz with some additional voltage and proper cooling , so start tweaking your FSB and voltage and watch your temp

thanks for the quick reply,ok the stock setting on the fsb was 800,I bumped it up to 810 then 820 , with no change, should I go higher also which voltage settings were you talking about.please bare with me i'm new at this stuff but very interested. thnks

download cpuz to check your cpu speed , FSB should be 200
your cpu freq is  200x12.5 = 2500 mhz
so for 210x12.5 you will get 2625 mhz and so on
additional cpu voltage is required only in  case of CPU instability , to check for stability use intel burn in test for 10-15 min if stable add more FSB and so on

hi guys I hate to be a noobe pain,in advanced bios it says FSB QTR is 800, i don't see anything that is even near 200 mhz.

I have nothing like that at all ,maybe its not possible to clock my cpu or maybe i have to upgrade the bios

could u please give the exact motherboard model , usually it is in the box or just under or above the pic-e slot , some time also near ram slot

hey this is a good forum,thanks my mobo is a ASUS P5N-EM HDMI  REV1.06G.there just seems to be no way to get at the settings has a smalar board and he has the settings in advanced bios. Huh
