We already know that the updated version GeForce 9600 GSO will use the G94 chip , which will preserve only 48 stream processors. This product will be similar to the GeForce 9600 GT, the memory bus and its volume will remain as before - 256 bits and 512 mb GDDR- 3 .

According to official Nvidia presentation this card will be called GeForce 9600 GSO 512 . The number 512 here reffer to the memory capacity. It is known that the based on G92 version GeForce 9600 GSO had 384 or 768 mb memory and 192- bit bus.

In comparison with GeForce 9600 GT the frequency remained as before - 650/1625/1800 MHz. In essence, the GeForce 9600 GSO 512 differ from the 9600GT only in terms of the smaller stream processors quantity  . The GeForce 9600 GSO 512 announcement will be implicit - it will appear simply on sale to the end of the present month.

Scythe company demonstrated the video card cooler musashi on March exhibition CeBIT 2008, but only in the last Friday the description of this product appeared .

Let us recall that this video card cooler uses two low-profile fans standard size 100 X 100 X 12 mm, which rotate at 800-2000 rp/min, creating the air flow 11,45 - 27,60 cubic feet per minute, and the noise level in this case varies in the limits from 12,5 to 29,22 DB.

The radiator is collected from aluminum . Heat pipes with 6 mm diameter make direct contact with the copper base.

The cooler sizes are 104 X 250 X 35 mm, the construction mass is equal to 375 gram.

This cooler is compatible with AMD radeon 9xxx/x1300/X1600/x1650/X1800/x1900/X1950/HD2600/

HD2900XT/HD3650/HD3850/HD3870/HD4850/HD4870 and GeForce FX5900/6600/6800/7300/7600/7800/7900/8500/8600/8800GT/

The first core i7 overclocking attempt showed that processor with the limited multiplier can be overclocked to approximately 220 MHz bus (133 MHz default). This will allow processors with the locked multiplier to overclock (in air) to the frequencies of more than 4.0 GHz.

The engineering model core i7 extreme 965  C0 stepping was overclocked to 4.2 GHz with the 21x multiplier and 200 MHz bus frequency (without vcore increase) .

According to associate , a overclocker group  from some Europe countries already works at the extreme overclocking of bloomfield processors with the use of liquid nitrogen. More result will flow.

Two day ago we mentioned about one program, which allow to restore lost/forgotten passwords using the computational resources of  NVIDIA video cards (elcomSoft). But here the possibility of CUDA platform is aslo useful for different programs, which are occupied by cryptographic analysis.

In particular, the program barsWF, which is specialized in MD5 selection , is capable of checking 350 million keys per second with the use of processor core 2 Duo ( 3.0 GHz ) and GeForce 9600 GT video card.

In the beginning of November will appear a super-computer for the cryptanalysis on base of barsWF, and in this case the possibility to use the computational resources of AMD video card will be provided .
