Google , planning to distribute to the poor internet using a network of automatic balloons with transponders (Project Loon), pursues a rather pragmatic goals - more than web audience, the more the company can earn on advertising and other services.
Judging by fresh allegations Facebook, this social network pursues similar goals. The company has hired professionals from the American space agency, and other experts to work on the initiative Connectivity Lab. It extends the previously launched project Internet.org supply access to a global network of people in Africa and Asia. It is assumed that Facebook and its partners can use suborbital aircraft powered by solar energy, satellites and infrared lasers for high-speed transmission of information in areas with poor terrestrial infrastructure.
As explained by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, providing each person on the planet access to the global network will require a whole technological zoo.
