- Lian Li silent force PSU - MSI is ready for Kuma processors - NVIDIA 55nm chip with defect - AMD athlon 64 2000 -

lian Li company released a new power units silent force, which correspond to the standard 80 Plus (EFFICIENCY more than 80%), and also to the standards  ATX 12V V2.3 and EPS 12V. lian Li  proposed models with power of 650 W, 750 W and 850 W .

The fan maximum rotation speed is 2500 rp/min ( 135- mm ). This PSU use Japanese capacitors, which allow to increase the failure time to 100 thousand hours, and to also increase the quality of power output .

Modular cables control  allow to use less cables and then to increase the air flow .  PCI- E Connector is protected from electromagnetic radiation (EMI) .

Let us recall that recently Lian Li presented the PSU series MAXIMA  force.

MSI company ,  revealed the extensive list of motherboard ready to work with athlon X2 6500 Black edition processor , whose announcement will takes place already on the following week. At the same time it is possible to learn that the processor is based on B3 stepping , and has a TDP level not more than 95 W.

Let us note that the processor marking is  AD6500WCJ2BGH (OEM- version) or AD6500BGHBOX (box version).

As reports associate,  NVIDIA company informed its partners about the changes in the technical process for the production of g92 chips  , released on 65 nm and 55 nm technology. The latter was adapted for all video card GeForce 9800 GTX+ and some GeForce 9800 GT. Changes in the technical process implied the replacement of materials, utilized with the production of chip packing  , to the more reliable version.

Updated video chip will be supplied to partners from 17 August present year. Note that 55 nm chip may also include some defects .

In the middle of this month appeared the review of single core processor athlon 64 2000+, which works at 1.0 GHz frequency with 0.9 V, and characterized by energy consumption level  not more than 8 W. Associate report that precisely this AMD processors will be able to compete with atom processors  , proposing the higher productivity level with the comparable energy parameters.

If we briefly analyze the test of Athlon 64 2000+, then we can say that it can compete with Atom 230, and not only on the speed level , but also in the energy consumption plan.

AMD actually plan to resist atom processors with the aid of economical versions generation K8. During November this year the company will propose two processors to OEM- producers: single core Athlon 2650e (1.6 GHz) with TDP level not more than 15 W and dual core Athlon X2 3250e (1.5 GHz) with TDP level not more than 22 W. Both will be released on 65 nm technology, have socket AM2 performance , and relates to G2 stepping. To the notebook producers will be proposed a mobile processors close in characteristics.

Chipset for these processors will become the integrated AMD 740.
