Australian enthusiast newlife recently managed to overclock the processor Athlon X4 845 up to 4.74 GHz, while maintaining the activity of two cores and voltage 1.475 V. This is a new record for this model.
For cooling the processor was used clever combination of Peltier module, the water block and the tank of ice water.
By the way, the same processor at a frequency of 4679 MHz showed a record result for the model in SuperPI 32M - 9 minutes 58.875 seconds. This is the first case where the Athlon X4 845 copes with the calculation in less than ten minutes. In this case, the core voltage had to be raised to 1.7 V. A further improvement of the results can be achieved using dry ice, which is already included in the author plans.
