The Prices of intel processors ( core generation ) now are so low , even the most conservative buyers begin to think about the purchase of motherboard with this processors support .

One basic chispet, utilized for creating cheap motherboard under Conroe, is now i945GC. It support DDR 2-667 and 800 MHz system bus; however, unofficially motherboard producers can propose the support of processors with 1333 MHz system bus. Since i945GC is completed by south bridges series ICH7, there is no problems with IDE support on the corresponding motherboards .

MSI company recently , begin the sale of motherboard 945GCM5 V2, which has microATX format and based on chipset i945GC. Two slots DIMM support dual-channel memory ( DDR 2-667 ) , This motherboard provide one slot PCI express x16 for the discrete video card, one slot PCI express x1 and two slots PCI. Four ports SATA-300 and one port PATA allow to connect a large quantity of hard disks . In addition MSI 945GCM5 V2 offer : Sequential and parallel port, VGA-out built-in video core, ports PS/2, network port 10/100 Mbit/s and four ports USB 2.0 witch are located on the rear panel of this motherboard.

Producer declares, that this motherboard support the processors series core 2 Duo e6x50 with 1333 MHz system bus.

However, the basic merit of MSI 945GCM5 V2 motherboard consists on its low price - it is proposed for $50-67 (depend on location). This is completely good version for economical Conroe supporters . It is not possible to exclude that this motherboard will be able to support future 45 nm processors.
