During the second day of IDF 2009 Intel shared with community a new portion of information about the highly productive mobile processors core i7. Recently, the sector of mobile devices demonstrates the best development results , predominantly due to platforms, intended for netbook and ultra-mobile devices. However, today the discussion deal with full scale notebooks..
Relatively high performance for typical office tasks and ability to ensure the moderate comfort level in games only strengthens the attractiveness of notebooks in the eyes of user. The new processors core i7 must completely satisfy your requirements, this is the fastest mobile processors.
Only three models are currently available:
- Core i 7 -920XM - > four core, 2.0 GHz, cache 8 mb., turbo boost frequency 3.20 GHz, TDP = 55 W, price $1024;
- Core i 7 -820QM - > four core, 1.73 GHz, cache 8 mb., turbo boost frequency 3.02 GHz, TDP = 45 W, price $546;
- Core i 7 -720QM - > four core, 1.60 GHz, cache 6 mb., turbo boost frequency 2.80 GHz, TDP = 45 W, price $364.
All processors have four computational core and support the technologies Intel turbo boost and Intel hyper-Threading. Due to Intel turbo boost technology the processor frequency automatically rises with which will speed up applications without the support of multi core. In turn Intel hyper-Threading technology is capable of increasing the effectiveness of processor in multi threaded applications due to the doubling of virtual processor core . Those processors are released on 45 nm standards, and they will work with PM55 express, and support DDR-3 memory with 1333 MHz frequency .
Here is the comparison of core i 7 -920XM and previous elder model core 2 Extreme QX9300 :
