MediaTek is preparing to release a new mobile processor Helio P40 and is now discussing with large manufacturers the possibility of its installation in new smartphones. And today it became known that at least one company became interested in the new MediaTek chip.
As reported by the Internet portal GizmoChina with reference to informed sources, MediaTek sent the smartphone manufacturers samples of the new Helio P40 processor for testing and has already found the first customer. This is the Chinese company Meizu. According to sources, the first Meizu smartphone based on Helio P40 will appear in the first quarter of 2018. By the way, recently Meizu has released a smartphone Pro 7 Plus on Helio X30, the most powerful mobile chip MediaTek.
As it became known earlier, MediaTek Helio P40 will include two Cortex-A73 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores. It will be a mid-range chip, built on 12-nanometer standards. The announcement of a new single-chip system, which will replace the Helio P30, is expected in the fourth quarter of 2017.
