Any industry giant will sooner or later encounter suspicions of abuse of its position in the market, and the whole question is how soon these suspicions are transformed into accusations from the competent authorities of specific states. The DigiTimes website, citing TSMC's comments, said the company can not confirm accusations against it by the US and EU antitrust authorities.
Chinese media recently reported that the activities of TSMC in these markets may be subject to investigation by the antimonopoly authorities, as the company was suspected of abusing its position in order to prevent some competitors from entering the market. TSMC stated that the relevant authorities did not apply for such notifications, and the company agreed to cooperate with official organizations. Moreover, TSMC considers such accusations groundless.
