AMD Company actively convinced overclock supporters , that the two-chip product radeon HD 5970 has an excellent overclocking potential, and to obtain complete access to it is possible with the specialized utilities, which increase voltage on core and memories. Associate report that after some overclock in particular, in the test FurMark the video card reduced its core frequency from 875 to 550 MHz. Furthermore, even at default frequencies 725/4000 MHz in this test the video card preferred at some moments to roll back the safe frequencies. To prevent frequency roll back was possible only after setting the core frequency at 625 MHz.  AMD representatives noted that in the majority of games the mechanism of heat shielding must not lead to a reduction in frequencies, but the test furMark is a sufficiently specific application. Moreover, in proportion to the restoration of default temperature conditions radeon HD 5970 must return to the frequencies values set by the user.
