Last week powerColor company presented the video card radeon HD 5550 - the junior representative of redwood pro.
Initially, Radeon HD 5550 was developed as a cheaper alternative Of radeon HD 5570 for the markets of China and Russia, but its recent appearance in the assortment of club 3d production openly indicates the possibility of this video card appearance in European stores.  If we compare Radeon HD 5570 and Radeon HD 5550, then the latter decreased the quantity of active shader processors from 400 to 320 pieces, and also the quantity sample blocks and filtering textures - from 20 to 16 pieces. Other functional video chip blocks remained as before: 8 units rops and 32 blocks Z/stencil. The core frequency is reduced from 650 to 550 MHz, for memory instead of DDR- 3, DDR-2 with 800 MHz DDR frequency is used and the previous 128- bit bus remained.
