At the end of January LSI company declared about the collaboration with Seagate in the field of solid-state disk, oriented for use in the large data storage systems. Seagate participated in this alliance by its solid-state disk, and LSI answered for the interface part, based on PCI express.
On this week LSI begins the delivery of solid-state disk models to the first OEM- clients. The device LSISSS6200 is the expansion card with PCI expresses x4 interface, on which is placed up to six disk pulsar, which use SLC memory. SAS interface is used, the expansion card does not require additional power.
The volume of LSISSS6200 can reach 300 Gb, the speed can reach 1500 Mbyte(s)/s, the kept balance transmission speed of arbitrary data reaches 1200 Mbyte(s)/s.
