AMD Company after prolonged preparation released the video card radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 edition, which can derive the image to six monitors simultaneously. On the rear panel of this video card, they are six ports mini-DisplayPort. In comparison with Radeon HD 5870, this video card obtained the doubly larger memory capacity - 2 Gb instead of previous 1 Gb. Frequencies remained as before - 850/4800 MHz.
An increase in the memory volume and quantity of video outputs provoked an increase in the energy consumption: in the quiescent conditions, it grew from 27 to 34 W, under load - from 188 to 228 W. Instead of the second six-pronged the octal power port appeared.  Theoretical maximum: six monitors with 2560 X 1600 resolution. Actuality configuration will be determined by the possibilities of monitors and adapters. The video card is supplied with five adapters in the complete set: two passive mini-DisplayPort - > DVI, two mini-DisplayPort - > DisplayPort and one passive mini-DisplayPort - > HDMI.  Two remained outputs can be connected to the monitors with the DVI, HDMI or D -Sub, but only one of them can have be HDMI. The cost of radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 edition is equal to $479 - not too much. AMD Partners can complete video card by adapters at their discretion.
