Associate did not simply overclocked the radeon HD 6870 from Gigabyte in the limit of air cooling, but also modified the power system , which allow to raise voltage on video chip from 1.185 to 1.51 v.
Let us note that in the term of air cooling there is some note. On the video chip was installed the radiator thermalright spitfire with additional fan standard size 140 mm, which worked at 6000 rp/min furthermore, the air temperature did not exceed five degree Celsius.  As a result it was possible to attain the stable operation of video card at 1200/4760 MHz frequencies in 3DMark'05 test , whereas default frequencies were equal to 900/4200 MHz.
